TATTOOS AND TATTOOISTS
Thanks to David Danby for this new career.

Tattooed Old Wolders

Throughout the Old World, paintings and symbols are used in every walk of life.  This also extends to painting the flesh of people within the Empire.  Tattoos have been around for hundreds of years, whether permanent or just for battle, they individualise the person from the rest of society.

A Tattooist is an artist, able to perform skilful designs and pictures that usually have only meaning to the individual.  To be able to visualise thought, expression and put ink to flesh is a talent indeed. Unfortunately the occupation is one associated with low lives and scum but all levels of society call upon a Tattooist services.  This makes a Tattooist a hive of information!

Fingerbone
The Look: Tattooists are quite tough looking.  They often have muscular frames and possibly a scar or two.  Their hair is usually long but always tided back has not to interfere with their delicate work.  There clothes are made of strong leather, fasteners and straps, giving them an even more defined frame.  Some wish to wear no tops when the weather is right showing their many tattoos; a kind of advertisement.  When raining a long coat is worn over a baggy shirt and fancy waistcoat.

It would be very difficult for a tattooist to tattoo himself.  This is why the services of a fellow artist are required when asking for tattoo.  There is a sort of code when a Tattooist is drawing upon a fellow person of the trade.  They do not purposely mess up tattoos as this would put them out of favour with their colleagues.  Tattooists need to show their 'skills' and creative flair.
